Overview

We have designed this programme to provide you with job specific skills in Accounts, and to teach you how to use Information Technology in an accounting office. The course will provide you with a great introduction in the use of accounting software and will develop your IT skills. We use the latest practices in accountancy software and provide you with a solid basis for further study and career development.

What will I Learn?

The course is made up of Modules and Units, and you will experience practical computing and bookkeeping tasks. You will learn by the tutor demonstrating a task, and then you performing it. You will be required to work both on your own and in a group, and you may be asked to research up to date information and present it to the group.

The course covers:
Manual Book-Keeping and Office Administration including Health and Safety
Preparing Information for Business Decisions covers: the additional skills required for evaluating a business
You also have the invaluable chance to study and complete a First Certificate in Business which includes: Investigating Financial Control and Starting a Small Business.

What are the Entry Requirements?

Four GCSEs including English and Maths.
You must provide a satisfactory reference.
Entry is subject to an interview with the Course Tutor and satisfactory Literacy and Numeracy skills.
Applications are welcomed from mature students who can demonstrate suitability as a result of previous experience, or have the capability to satisfactorily complete and benefit from the course.
